Creativity for Matt (Image 1 & 2)

Posted: October 10, 2013 in Uncategorized

Set by our course leader we have been tasked to take 6 creative images over the next 6 days.  I’ve decided to go with a theme of “reflection” to make me think a little more about just what I need to produce rather than just slam in 6 random images claiming “creativity”.

My first “reflection” was taken last night. Simplistic yet potentially thought provoking I took an image from where I was sat in our living room, through the patio doors looking into the garden. Our floor lights were on which have frosted glass heads shaped like flowers with the whole thing evidently trying to look like some sort of flowering plant. As a reflection in the window it looks as though the light could possibly be planted in the garden. Brought a smile to my face that for all the thought process I had undertaken for ideas the first becomes a totally random opportunity whilst sat with a cuppa watching Tv.

So my day 1 image….

Todays image was created from something I see every day walking to tutorials. Standing majestically in the Old Town of Kingston Upon Hull is Holy Trinity Church. This impressive and imposing structure has an office block opposite with reflective coating applied to all the windows. You know the type, pretty one day but then burning your retinas out another  with the suns reflection.

Caught this just right with the low autumn sun basking over the church and no flare from the office windows. And reflection number 2 is in the bag.
